How to make your own gin at home!
“Pimp” a vodka and make it your masterpiece!
Every Gin is unique, with Ginuis, create your own.
Gin is pretty simple, it's basically a vodka flavored with juniper berries to which herbs and spices are then added through a maceration process. Start at the beginning and buy a bottle of vodka or neutral spirit, preferably between 40 and 45% alcohol. Don't choose the best, or the worst. I suggest La Vodka Bold , a high-quality Quebec vodka with excellent value for money.
Low-shelf vodka will require multiple filtrations to remove the overly strong alcoholic sensation that will undoubtedly hamper the final taste of your product. Top-shelf vodka, on the other hand, will simply cost too much for nothing. We're somewhere in the middle; the selection is impressive.
Why vodka and not gin as a base?
To maintain control over the dosage of juniper, this is the body of your nanoproduction. Start small with one bottle, not 20 liters.
The steps are important, the instructions are included in the Ginius DIY-GINkit . The maceration time must be respected to the hour and must be filtered carefully using a simple BRITA and taking care to replace the filter cassette frequently.
Once you've completed these steps, you should get a product with a beautiful golden color typical of a successful small batch. Our Ginius Ginkit, thanks to the labels provided, allows you to personalize your production and enjoy it or even give it to friends!
